About Presidio Education®
A Team of Educators. A Mission of Excellence.
At Presidio Education®, we believe that exceptional academic outcomes begin with an exceptional team. Our company was built by educators, not just tutors — professionals who bring deep expertise, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to long-term student success.
Our leadership team holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in fields such as English, education, publishing, technology, project management, and sustainability. Many of our instructors have taught in California public high schools, and bring that real-world classroom experience into every lesson we deliver.
To maintain academic excellence, we rigorously assess our faculty through updated, timed exams and continuous training. This ensures that our students receive instruction that is not only high-quality and results-driven, but also rooted in real teaching experience and authentic care for their growth.

Our Story
A Name with Purpose. A Legacy of Service.
Founded in 2017, Presidio Education® is based in San Francisco, California, United States. Our name is inspired by the Presidio of San Francisco, a national park that represents resilience, community, and transformation.
In high school, our founder and CEO, Ryan Young, served as Co-Founder and President of the Environmental Club, where he led weekly volunteer service trips focused on ecological restoration. One of his most rewarding moments was witnessing the reopening of Crissy Field — a once-degraded shoreline brought back to life through years of student-led effort.
That early experience in service, education, and environmental stewardship shaped the foundation of Presidio Education®. Our name is more than just a reference to place — it’s a reflection of our commitment to building something meaningful for future generations.

Stories from Our Founder
Making an Impact Locally and Globally
At Presidio Education®, our mission extends beyond academics. We believe in applying our values to real-world action—locally and globally. These stories, shared by our founder, highlight how compassion, teamwork, and a commitment to service can create meaningful change. Whether supporting unhoused individuals in San Francisco or schoolchildren in Cebu, Philippines, we aim to lead by example and build a culture of empathy and impact.
San Francisco: The Sanctuary City
On Saturday, October 31, 2020, our team drove around San Francisco donating new backpacks filled with hygiene supplies for the unhoused individuals. We called this our SF Impact Project 2020.
In 2019, the City and County of San Francisco estimated that 9,808 unhoused individuals were scattered across the city. Unfortunately, with COVID-19, many unhoused individuals were forced out of shelters due to concerns about spreading the virus. As a result, many are now living on the streets without access to food, water, masks, sanitizers, and medical treatment. Some of the most vulnerable—those who depend on regular mental health treatments—are now without their medication or necessary support.
Unhoused circumstances can be difficult to address. Yes, some of the people we encountered may struggle with drug dependency or have criminal records that make it harder to secure employment. But abandoning them is not the San Francisco way. We believe in treating everyone with dignity and kindness. We believe in second chances.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the SF Impact Project 2020 possible. Many people drove around the Bay Area picking up boxes full of supplies, stayed up late organizing and packaging, and distributed backpacks filled with essential items. These efforts were all made possible through the teamwork, dedication, and compassion of individuals who sacrificed their time to help others in need. We are truly grateful for their commitment to making a difference.

Cebu: Extending Our Impact Overseas
When we founded Presidio Education® in 2017, we began exploring how to develop a meaningful sustainability mission. One idea came from Yunju Chen, our Director of Product Management, who suggested flying our team overseas to hand-deliver new school supplies to children in need. At the time, we lacked the resources and infrastructure to make this vision a reality.

One idea came from Yunju Chen, our Director of Product Management, who suggested flying our team overseas to hand-deliver new school supplies to children in need. At the time, we lacked the resources and infrastructure to make this vision a reality.
But after a year of building, we had what we needed—logistical support, a committed team, and enough resources—to launch our first international Presidio Impact project: the Cebu Impact Project.
We chose Cebu City, Philippines, as our destination because one of our faculty members, Kenley Lou, a Social Science Teacher, grew up in the city. As an active Red Cross volunteer, Kenley had firsthand knowledge of the poverty many Cebuano children face and was deeply motivated to give back.

In the summer of 2018, a group of our faculty, staff, and college interns traveled to Cebu to personally deliver 280 hand-packed backpacks filled with school supplies to first graders at Hipodromo Elementary School and Adlaon Integrated School.
We are sincerely thankful to everyone who helped bring the Cebu Impact Project to life. With logistical support from our partners in Hong Kong and local government contacts in Cebu, as well as contributions in design, photography, and supply chain coordination, the success of this project was the result of true teamwork. Many generous individuals donated their time, energy, and resources for this single cause.
Presidio Impact projects are not about Founders nor CEOs. They are about collective effort. I was honored to be part of the Cebu Impact Project, but it would not have been possible without the innovation, compassion, and dedication of everyone involved.
