Diagnostic Tests

Accurately Assess Your Starting Point with Presidio Education®

At Presidio Education®, our Diagnostic Tests (DTs) are designed to provide a comprehensive evaluation of a student's current proficiency in major American standardized tests, including the ACT, SAT, Advanced Placement (AP) exams, SSAT, PSAT/NMSQT, TOEFL, and GRE. These free, full, and updated assessments are available to both American and international students.

Our faculty meticulously analyzes multiple-choice questions (MCQs), essays, short written responses, calculations, and graphs to identify specific strengths and areas for improvement. The insights gained from these analyses are compiled into official DT Reports, which include scores, detailed analysis, and tailored recommendations to guide the student's preparation journey.

How Our Diagnostic Test (DT) Process Works

A Simple, Personalized Approach to Assessment

Our Diagnostic Test (DT) process is designed to be easy, accurate, and stress-free. Once students request a specific test, our Customer Service Team will promptly send the appropriate materials. Students are expected to complete their DTs independently, timed under the honor system.

After submission, our faculty will thoroughly review the multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and free-response questions (FRQs), assessing performance across key skill areas. We will then generate a detailed DT Report, which includes scores, personalized analysis, and actionable recommendations, for both students and parents.

Analyzing Student Levels

Turning Test Results into Targeted Academic Strategies

Once students submit their completed Diagnostic Tests (DTs), our faculty will carefully score and analyze all multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to identify academic strengths, weaknesses, and patterns. This statistical insight allows us to detect recurring errors and gaps in foundational skills.

In addition to MCQs, we place significant emphasis on evaluating free-response questions (FRQs), including essays, short written responses, calculations, and data-based tasks. Unlike MCQs, FRQs require students to independently construct answers—offering a clearer window into how they think, plan, and communicate. Because FRQs cannot be guessed, they reveal a student’s true level of understanding and ability to apply concepts.

Our faculty dedicates substantial time and effort to thoroughly review each FRQ, ensuring that urgent academic needs are identified early. This allows us to deliver a truly personalized roadmap for improvement.

Diagnostic Test (DT) Reports

Personalized Reports That Drive Progress

After carefully evaluating each Diagnostic Test (DT), our faculty will complete a detailed DT Report. This official report includes student scores, individualized analysis, and targeted recommendations for improvement.

Our Customer Service Team will send the DT Report to both students and parents, helping ensure clear and open communication. These reports provide parents with valuable insight into their child's academic performance and areas that require focused support.

Students often express appreciation for the depth and clarity of our written feedback. DT Reports help students stay motivated by making progress measurable and actionable.

Target Test Scores and Test Dates

Balancing Ambition with Realistic Planning

Setting target test scores and official test dates is a family decision—students and parents should work together to establish these goals. Our role is to clearly outline the necessary steps to help students reach those targets.

However, we strongly advise students not to underestimate the time, effort, and consistency required to achieve high scores by specific deadlines. This is exactly why our Diagnostic Tests (DTs) and DT Reports are essential tools for creating a realistic and effective academic plan.

We encourage all students to maintain high levels of effort and dedication. Ambitious goals are commendable, but expectations must remain grounded in reality and matched with hard work.

Expert Recommendations Based on Diagnostic Results

Honest Feedback to Support Long-Term Growth

Our goal is to ensure both students and parents fully understand what it will take to improve on each standardized test. The critical feedback we provide in Diagnostic Test (DT) Reports is not meant to discourage, but to deliver clear, direct, and transparent evaluations of areas needing improvement.

We ask students and parents to approach this feedback with an open mind. Being receptive to constructive criticism—without defensiveness—is essential for meaningful progress. When we anticipate challenges, we speak up early to help prevent setbacks.

Our faculty applies the insights from each DT Report to develop customized teaching strategies. We make necessary adjustments to support each student’s growth and put them in the strongest possible position for long-term academic success.
